When you receive a rental contract in a foreign language, open this checklist alongside the document. Match each local-language term to its English equivalent and check whether the clause is present, missing, or different from what you expected. Clauses marked Required are legally mandated in most contracts for that country. Clauses marked Watch are where disputes most commonly arise.
